This post may contain affiliate links. Please read my affiliate disclosure for more information.

Are you a fan of Yeti products? I am too. They are made to last and made to withstand what gets thrown their way. I can also bet that you are wanting to earn some affiliate commissions through the Yeti affiliate program.

When you have excellent products that also have a great affiliate program, that is the best combination for affiliate marketers.

In this post, I’m going to talk a bit more about how the Yeti affiliate program works as well as share how you can make money promoting Yeti products.

Why should you listen to me? Let me introduce myself. My name is Eartha and I’m a full-time affiliate marketer.

I seek out various affiliate programs, products, and courses. My goal is to do a bit more research and offer a more in-depth review. It is my hope that it helps you find new opportunities to help grow your online business.

Let’s get into learning more about Yeti!

How the Yeti Affiliate Program Works

If you are not super familiar with how an affiliate program works, it is really simple. When you join the Yeti affiliate program, you will need to complete the application process.

You’ll do that through Impact which is the affiliate network that currently manages Yeti’s affiliate program.

The application form will ask some very basic things such as your name, contact details, how you plan on promoting Yeti products, as well as any online assets such as a website, social media accounts, etc.

After you submit your application, it will be up to the affiliate manager of the program to either approve or deny your application.

In most cases, you will be approved if you can demonstrate that you are serious about promoting the products.

This could be by having a website in a related niche, in this case, the outdoors niche. The same goes for any social media account. If your social media accounts are related to the outdoors and you have a following, it should increase your chances of approval.

Having one or the other will be fine. A related website usually is enough to get you approved in most affiliate programs.

Yeti Commission Rate

The commission rate is not very high for this affiliate program. It is a rate of 5% on every sale. The upside is that Yeti products are priced highly.

For example, some of the Yeti hard coolers range from $250 up to $1,000 depending on the model. Also, most customers are likely to buy more than one product.

If someone buys a cooler, they may buy cooler accessories such as Yeti ice or cooler dividers. The average order value is high on the Yeti website.

Therefore, if you are sending a lot of quality traffic to the Yeti website and most people buy more than one product, you can see how your commissions can really add up.

The Yeti Cookie Length

A plus is that they do offer the standard cookie length of 30-days. That means if someone clicks on your affiliate link and doesn’t buy right away, they have up until 30-days to buy and you’ll still get credit for the sale.

Otherwise, the cookie will expire and your tracking expires with it. There is also the scenario of someone clicking your affiliate link and then visiting someone else’s website or social media account and clicking on their Yeti affiliate link.

If that happens, then in most cases, the other affiliate will get credit for the sale if the person buys a product.

Some affiliate programs set the cookie to stick with the original referrer. I’m not sure that this is the case for the Yeti affiliate program. You would need to read the fine print or reach out to an affiliate manager to ask.

The Yeti Niche Audience

In order to make the most affiliate sales that you can as a Yeti affiliate, you’ll need to understand who the niche audience is.

Yeti products are designed for the outdoors. Think along the lines of camping, hikers, RV users, and more.

First, let’s consider what the Yeti product line includes:

  • Coolers
  • Drinkware
  • Bags
  • Dog products
  • Cargo
  • Chairs
  • Blankets
  • Apparel

Your niche audience will be those that enjoy being outdoors Here are some niche ideas of people who would likely buy Yeti products:

  • Full-time RV’ers
  • Rock climbers
  • Campers
  • Hikers
  • Iron Man athletes
  • Fishing

However, you could promote Yeti products to anyone. We have Yeti mugs that we use at home. Some people prefer to buy high-quality products that will last for years.

I would likely stick to an outdoor niche. That audience is going to be highly likely to buy Yeti products.

How to Make Money Promoting Yeti Products

While there are a number of ways to promote affiliate products, I like to recommend a long-term online business model. This business model is what I used to get started as an affiliate marketer and it’s what I use today.

It is creating simple niche websites. We’ve already talked about the Yeti niche audience and some ideas on who that would be.

The process of a niche website goes like this:

  1. Choose a niche
  2. Build a website
  3. Attract visitors
  4. Earn revenue

For step one, I would choose an outdoor niche. If you like the outdoors, this would be easy for you. Since I have some experience with the RV life, I’d probably choose that niche.

Next, I would build a website. This is really easy. All that you need is a domain name, web hosting, and installing WordPress on your hosting account.

Any web hosting provider can set you up with all three things for a low price. Bluehost is a good option and they can install WordPress for you when you choose a WordPress hosting account.

After you get your website up and running, the next step is to attract visitors. You accomplish this by writing content (blog posts) that your niche audience will need help with.

For example, since I chose the RV niche, here are some things people search for. I found these by opening up Google Search and using the autosuggest feature.

  • how to RV full time
  • how to camp with an RV
  • cargo carrier for rv
  • rv travel mug

Those are only a few searches but you can see that those searches can relate back to some of the Yeti products.

All that it takes is to write a blog post about each keyword phrase and recommend Yeti products within your post using your affiliate links.

That brings us to the earning revenue portion. Each time someone visits your website, clicks your affiliate link, then buys a product, you earn a commission!

Overall Thoughts About the Yeti Affiliate Program

Yeti is a well-known brand and carries excellent products that are known for their quality and durability.

Recommending the products to the right audience can possibly mean easy conversions for you.

I think they are well worth promoting as an affiliate. Be sure to have some type of online asset to add to your application when applying to the affiliate program.

If you do not have such an asset, I highly recommend creating a niche website related to the outdoor niche (read below.)

This will help you to get approved much faster. Your website doesn’t have to be established for very long. It is a good idea to have at least 5 – 10 blog posts to show that you are serious about promoting their products.

How I Use Niche Websites to Promote Affiliate Products

The outline I shared above is the exact way that I create all of my niche websites. One bonus that I’ll add is to create review pages for the products that you promote.

In some cases, you may be able to buy the products if they are affordable and create genuine reviews.

That is always the best way to go as you can take your own photos, maybe even some video of using the product and providing your genuine opinion.

Review pages convert extremely well. Consider how often you look up a product review before buying?

If you recommend a Yeti product on your blog post and link to a review of the product on your website that has your affiliate links, you have a much higher chance of getting a sale.

Yeti products are expensive so I wouldn’t suggest buying them just to do product reviews. Another option is to search other product reviews and get as much detail as you can.

You can then write your product review in your own words. It’s like being a reporter. Your product review page should contain multiple affiliate links throughout.

Affiliate marketing is my all-time favorite way to earn income online. Here is a screen capture of an affiliate commission I made from one affiliate program:

You are only limited by the amount of work you put in. Treat your niche website as a business from day one.

Getting guidance is always a smart option. When I got started, I didn’t want to waste time trying to learn affiliate marketing on my own.

I sought out a training program that helped me make progress much faster. You can follow the same training that I did by clicking the button below:

I hope this review of the Yeti affiliate program offered some insights into what is possible with promoting their products.

Wishing you all the best in your online business journey!
