Don’t underestimate the power of a niche website (also referred to as a niche blog.)
Many people think that a website is too slow to make money online. Yes, it takes time for a website to generate traffic but once it gets going, a website can earn income for years!
That being said, let’s go over what you’ll need to launch your website and how to get traffic.
Setting Up Your Website
This won’t take very much time at all. Almost any web hosting provider can set you up with everything that you’ll need.
These three things include:
- Domain name
- Web hosting
- WordPress installed on your hosting account

Choosing a Niche to Target
It’s a good idea to think about the audience you want to help with your content. Let’s figure out who may want to use a VPN.
This is a matter of doing some keyword research. Some of the keyword phrases that returned when I did a search include:
- private internet access
- vpn solutions small business
- why should I get a vpn
From those searches, we have three types of people that are highly interested in using a VPN.
The first is someone that wants private internet access. This could be anyone that is wary about their data being breached online.
Next is a small business owner. Of course, a business owner wants to keep all data secure so a VPN solution is important.
Finally, is the beginner that may have heard of a VPN but isn’t sure what it is or how it works.
Therefore, your niche website could focus on those that want to learn more about internet privacy, or small business owners, or complete beginners.
Another option is to create a general VPN niche website and cover all three topics and more.
Write Content to Help Your Niche
Once you have settled on your niche, it is time to attract targeted visitors to your website.
Content is what’s going to help us do that. Again, do keyword research using any keyword tool that you like.
Google Search is free and works well. Type in a keyword related to your niche and Google’s autosuggest feature will let you know what your target audience needs help with.
Choose one of these keyword phrases and begin writing a blog post that provides as much helpful information that you can.
In time, the content that you create will be indexed and ranked in the search engines like Google.
When visitors search for VPN topics, some of your blog posts may rank highly and get clicked on.
Once your niche website begins to receive visitors, it is capable of earning income.
There are plenty of excellent VPN affiliate programs that you can choose from.
Some of them offer up to 60% commissions and also have recurring commissions as well.
Recurring commissions are the best as you earn a commission each month that your referral remains a customer of the company.
Your website will make money when visitors click on your affiliate links. You can place your affiliate links within your blog posts.
However, don’t overdo it. One or two affiliate links within your content can work well. Another tip is to create a review page.
You can place as many affiliate links as you want on a review page and link to your review page from your blog posts.
Maintaining Your VPN Niche Website
Content creation is going to be the bulk of your online business. Without content, your website won’t receive web traffic.
Try to maintain a regular posting schedule. My personal goal for a brand new website is posting 2 to 3 times per week.
I understand that can be a lot for a beginner and especially if you already have a busy schedule. Posting once per week is sufficient so long as you stay consistent.
